A Promise youth with very significant disabilities, very limited ability to communicate, aggressive and displaying inappropriate behaviors wanted to work. His service team was not sure work would be a possibility for him, but they worked together with leadership from his Promise counselor to brainstorm possible jobs. Promise provided a job developer, and the team helped him find an internship delivering flyers.
He loves it and is doing great! He completed the internship, exceeding his team’s expectations. His employer wants him to continue in this job, and his team has a long-term plan for him to start his own business delivering flyers for businesses.
